Speed Blogs

Never going to get caught up so it's speed blog time!

Friday:

Ate chocolate cake for breakfast, woke up super late. Then went to Cave. Went with Sally to Crepe a gogo, Gave away second half of crepe because I felt sick. Stayed in gave for four hours writing one blog and singing Christmas songs. Went to Wine Tasting. Like all but one. Got a bit too intoxicated than I wanted because of not eating, went on Pizza cracker hunt. Got pizza crackers. Went home. Got sucked into playing Monopoly.
Then while I was playing Monopoly Cassidy messaged asking if we could go to Paris again. So then I looked into it and we ultimately decided to go. I then had to book and find everything. In the mean time Thad was trying to talk serious but he had to go on hold because my brain was exploding from working overtime in two languages, playing monopoly, and planning a trip. Ate delicious Lasagna. Then later ice cream once I started skyping Thad and Parents separately. So YEAH! Paris! AGAIN! Woo!!!!! Excited!!!!! Went to sleep.
Saturday:
Woke up early, went to hotel de ville and met LaSia and Cassandra. Went to the Saturday Markets, then to Book in Bar while Cassandra went to Doctors again. (She is getting x-rays of her ankle.) Bought Game of Thrones 4. Drank hot cocoa with marshmallows, got scones. Then went to Carrefour, had lots of fun, almost bought a ring but didn’t like it enough. Bought food. Then back home. Stopped at LaSia’s house to drop off stuff, met her host mom, then to my house where she met mine. (Cassandra waited downstairs because of her ankle, ) LaSia met Beebow and Madame. Then went to Dolls in the Kitchen, met Sally. Did truffle workshop ( overrated and not worth the money). Apparently don’t like truffles. Ate 6 truffles to try all flavors. Felt sick. Met with LaSia and Cassandra again. Cassandra and I went to Café. Got tea. Delicious and cheap. Read a really exciting email with a great opportunity. Was really happy. Then went to Bulldogge and had a deliciously messy burger. Felt better. Then went to Movie with pitstop at bank. Cassandra’s card busted again, loaned her money. Went to movie, bought popcorn for everyone because it was 2 euros more for a second box. Watched Catching Fire, was surprised I understood as much as I did. Then walked home. Was creaped out by guys driving in car trying to hit on me, and then buy guy in street asking me if I had a lighter. Ran home. Got on computer. Wrote speed blogs, Skyped parents/thad telling exiting news, Went to bed.

Thanksgiving French Style

So today it wasn’t snowing. :-( But it was Thanksgiving! But unfortunately because it is not a French recognized holiday there was still classes. Even though we are an American University. So that was not super fun. No one was very interested in classes.
For history we got our papers back and I got an A. I found an example that he didn’t mean for me to find but that he couldn’t penalize me for, so that was kind of funny. We spent most of the time talking about that instead of learning new stuff. Eventually it was over and I wasn’t hungry. Cassandra had gotten her gummies from Germany so we were all eating them during class.
After that I had Lit which we were supposed to have a little test in but we didn’t. I guess one of the professors friends passed away so we had a shortened class and his head wasn’t really in it. I think that it was pretty unproductive of a class. But that’s okay I can understand why. After that Cassandra and I went for a walk around town and got hot wine and i got a picture of Laurences shop.
After that we went down to the cave. My buds and I hung out down there before the university dinner. It was pretty fun times down there. The other group was playing this iPod game called Heads up where you pick a category and you hold the ipod on your head and they get you to guess whatever shows up on the screen. It was a pretty fun looking game. I chose not to play but it was really fun to watch.
After a while we played my Twelve Days of Thanksgiving song and we (me and Cassandra) sung it. Sara recorded it so maybe I will be able to get my hands on it sometime. Then we headed out to the Thanksgiving celebration.
It was pretty disorganized. They came by while we were waiting and recruited some of us (but only the boys because you know us girls are too weak to carry anything) to help. After that they let us in. The meal was in the same building that I went to the art show in that one time. It was two long tables with wine and water and bread on. There were also some cool IAU plastic cups.

Helped clean up/serve pie because everyone left. My group stayed. Washed dishes and sang Christmas carols. Ended up leaving with 11 plastic cups and 4 luggage tags. Kept 4 cups, gave the rest to Madame. Went around with what we are thankful for, went to a bar. Got drinks which made us the powerpuff girls on accident (green, red, blue). LaSia traded me her drink because mine was mint. Went home. Skyped home with Harkins Chirstmas.

Snow!

So I have been kind of behind in my blog posts just because I have been trying to take good advantage of my time and then also because lately with Thanksgiving and such I have spent my nights on Skype rather than writing. So this is actually the post for Wednesday the 27th!
So I did my usual morning stuff. I walked into the living room and on tv there were horrifying images of spiders and Madae was like look and I was like yeah it's gross and she was like no outside! It was snowing! But it wasn;t sticking. But it was still pretty! Then after breakfast I got up to go to my history class. It was kind of a boring class and I was in kind of a grumpy mood all day. I had a misunderstanding with Thad and so I was kind of on edge all day. After class Sally asked if I wanted to go look at rings since I had told her that is what I want to commemorate my trip here. I said sure so we headed out.
It was kind of a difficult time. First we decided to start walking and got to the hotel de ville and then realized that neither of us knew where to go to find something like that. So then we turned back around to go to the school to Google a place to go.  We asked the secretary how to get to one of the places and then headed out. We did find the store fine but all the rings in the window were 3,000 Euros or more and the inside looked even less promising because it was just desks and chairs so we decided to skip it. We kept walking towards Cours Mirabeau and found another but it was about the same. We didn’t really have much luck. Then after that we went and found the two piercing places in Aix to see what their prices were for Sally to get her cartilage pierced.
(Thats my friend Kelan) I feel like piercing places are always scary. I don’t have too much experience going to piercing places other than when I went with Nikki for her Birthday at Linfield and this time. But they are just kind of scary places. I think because I don’t really like the idea of piercings myself. I have the basic ear piercing sort of but I don’t have or really want anything else. I don’t mind if my friends or whatever have them as long as they aren’t the super gross like the giant holes in the ears. But I think piercing places are just a little bit scary for me. She didn’t decide to get one yet so then we decided to go to the cave. We hung out there for the rest of the day. I hung out with Will. We googled how long it would take to get from his house to ours. It was kind of fun and I google earthed my house to show him where I live. It was kind of fun. I kept procrastinating my homework and he kept bugging me so I kept bugging him. It was kind of a fun time.  He is pretty funny. And like he just like randomly turned to me and was like “Thank you for being you” and I was like awww. It is kind of interesting because his voice is almost the same as Jordan’s was. So it is kind of weird talking to him because they sound so similar. But I think because of that I feel like really comfortable most of the time around him which is cool because he is a really nice guy. (On the way home he called me Kace which really kind of freaked me out for a second just because the voice was the same. But I got over it.)
After that I spent twenty minutes doing my homework and then went to translation class. I had a mostly good time in class today. We spent the first bit of class talking/whining about the school planned trips which are kind of terrible because they split us up and then treat us like children. It was kind of funny because then she went and closed the door and then told us about the drama with Yamina and how this is the first year that the teachers have been able to organize their own trips without her going on them. We are like thank goodness because whenever she is there the stress level of everyone rises and we all get super cranky because she is rude to us. After that we went to the homework and corrected it and then continued on in translating the page. The teacher came over and started helping me but then I started blanking on easy stuff and getting upset but I was like “seriously Kacy, You WANT this help why are you freaking out”. So that was kind of bad. But I think it was a combination of not being in a very good mental place that day.
Sophie and I walked home with Will since they both live in that direction. Then I came home and was checking Facebook when Paul and Madame came up. When he opened the door he was like Kacy? And Madame was like she’s here because the door is open so I said Hi. Paul had two books, one of reptiles and then the other was a book with dogs and descriptions of them. We went through them and Paul told me his favorites and then showed me the different alligators and crocodiles in his books and then told me in relation to the room how big they would be. (He was a bit exaggerated.) Then we had dinner. Paul had Cordon Bleu and macaroni noodles and we had pot roast and vegetables. It was very filling but also very good. I can’t remember what I had for lunch but I remember not being very hungry so I didn’t eat very much. It was nice to have a big dinner. Then after that Madame brought out a chocolate cake that she had made that day. It was SOOO good! Even Paul liked it which is crazy considering he hates everything. It was like the consistence of a moist brownie but the taste of cake. It was really really good. I told Madame I want her to teach me how to make it before I leave. I had two pieces and Paul had two as well. It was very very very good. Probably some of the best chocolate cake in my life. And I do love chocolate cake.
After that Paul and Madame went downstairs to get him ready for bed and wait for his parents and then I Skyped home to see Spencer and Megan and Mom at home. They were getting ready for Thanksgiving the next day. It was fun to talk to them and then after that Thad got home to St. Helens and I got to Skype him before I went to bed. So that was good and I felt better after that. Then after that I couldn’t sleep still so I watched Catching Fire. I thought it was well done but I don’t like it as much as the first one, but I also liked the first book more than the second. I want to see it again though!

Monopoly Round 2

Today I didn’t want to wake up even though it was 10:20. You know how when you travel you always get super tired out? Well study abroad does just that but for three and a half months! I was exhausted but somehow got myself out of bed and took a shower. I almost fell out because I was trying to shave standing up and my balance went all out of whack. So that was weird. But then when I got out I checked my email and saw that there was another wine tasting sign up for Friday so I signed up for it and told all my friends and they signed up for it too.  Then I bagged up the three remaining cookies and put my stuff in my bag and went to class. When I got there I put my stuff down and then went down to the cave and found all of my buds.

They had all signed up and so we were happy that we have another activity to do together. This is a pretty exciting week for being a predicted not very exciting week! So that was cool. I ate some of Cassandra’s stir fried vegetable lunch and then once I had eaten all the good parts threw it away because she didn’t want it.

Then we went upstairs to get ready for class. We still didn’t get our papers back, so that is kind of annoying. I hope we get them back this week, I kind of doubt that we will though. Class was pretty boring we talked about the emergence of factories in Europe. After class I went to the newer building because I wasn’t feeling very hungry. We sat and talked in the library about when we could go see the new Hunger Games movie but we never really resolved a time. I want to see it tomorrow night. But I’m not sure everyone elses schedule which is the problem. Also it was kind of hard to figure out because people were talking over other people.
Then I went to Lit which was not too bad of a class. It was interesting. The book seems to be picking up so I might read it a bit now. Plus next time he said that he is going to give us a little quiz over the section… boo. And then later instead of having another paper we will have a meaner quiz. So I guess I need to start doing the read-skim technique… Ugh. I just do not understand why he chose this book. Or why for this short amount of time! We even are having to play catch up so by Tuesday we need to have read 200 pages. Which is like not easy to read because the book is so like. Blech. Kay done complaining.

After class I went and got a vietnameese salad from the vietnameese place. I went and sat in the cave to eat it and while I was I noticed a weird fishy taste… I decided it was probably just my imagination since it was just vegetables and some dried fried onions (?) on it. But then my stomach started getting mad at me so I stopped. I think it may not have been onions and that was the problem. But I am not sure. But whatever it was I gave up. Sally came down and sat with me and convinced me I needed to eat something because I really hadn’t eaten today so I went and got pasta. I ate a bit of it and then put the rest in the fridge for tomorrow. I was just not hungry and especially after my stomach was mad from the fishyness I didn’t want to push it.

Then it got closer to five and Jony and LaSia cam down and we watched the first half of the first Hunger Games because Jony has never seen it. We knew we were going to be kicked out of the building so we stopped right when she enters the tube to the arena. We had plans to finish it the next day but then later we found out that Jony had watched the second half without us. But I think we still have plans to watch it anyways.
Then I went home and dropped off my stuff before deciding to go down and see Paul. I probably should of read/skimmed my book… But I really didn’t want to do that. So I went down. They were playing Monopoly and they gave me some property and money and I joined in. Even still I hated Monopoly. The most boring part is always the beginning and since we sort of jump started it was easier. I was really winning for a while. Eventually Paul sprung for a hotel but then got broke and started crying. It was not so good. We were like oh it’s a ift here have some money but he wouldn’t take it. Eventually Madame winked at me and was like how about you and I be a team and share and go against Kacy because she is winning! I was like sure that sounds good. So then they combined and I stopped buying houses and such and tried to lose. Whether I was trying to lose to appease Paul or end the game… It was about 50/50. I really hate playing board games… They make me feel awkward no matter who I am playing them with. I think it is a matter of I don’t want to make problems as a result of a game like that or because I don’t like the everyone against everyone dynamic? But I have never really liked group games, especially if there is any strategy whatsoever. I think the only game I really maybe like is Candyland. But that is just a weird thing about me. Video games are okay but even then I don’t like to play them in a group. It is just like a weird thing for me. In sixth grade we used to play a spelling game with a ball where you throw it to someone and they have to say a word. I weaseled my way out of it by just telling her I would spell her all the words just don’t make me play the game. It has just always been a thing for me. I think if it was a group game where everyone works together it would be better but I just don’t like them.
Eventually I finally ran out of money after landing on their hotels but then they kept gifting me money and I was just like noooo I am dead let it be over! And eventually it was. I pet their cat Stitch a little bit and then we went upstairs. We had dinner which was my favorite lemon honey chicken with rice and zucchini! It was deeeelicious! We had red wine too which I could have just been fine with water. Then we had mandarins and speculoos for dessert which was good. Beebow threw up again during dinner again. I am wondering if he is sick. But she had given him some of the chicken so maybe he couldn’t deal with the lemon. That doesn’t seem like a typical cat diet.

After dinner we watched the Birds 2. It was pretty stupid really I thought. I thought the ending especially was really dumb… The birds just kind of leave and then that is the end. There is no real resolve and it is kind of dumb… After that we both went to bed. I stayed up later and messaged Thad a bit and then went to bed.

Paint isn't Photoshop

Today I woke up and said, “noooo so I pressed the snooze. And then it went off later and I said nooooo so then I pressed it one more time. Then I had to get up. I was on the later side but I skipped breakfast and didn’t take a shower so that was fine. I packed up some cookies to share and then headed out to the church that we were supposed to meet at last class. I got there in plenty of time and even listened to some Christmas music on the walk there.

I got there right on time and the rest of the class was there. We stood outside for a while, while our professor tried to get inside but it was locked… Then he went around and tried to get in through a side door to see if it was open. But it wasn’t. Sooo I guess it was closed today. So we hiked ourselves back to the school to do class there. I sat in the back with Sally and Will and we kind of watched our clocks through class. We talked about the painting that we were supposed to see. It was kind of interesting but also a bit like okay after this there are 5 more of these classes… Not that it’s on anyone’s mind! Uh huh. Right.
So then after class I went and got a baguette and finished off the rest of my cheese that was in the fridge of the Cave. It was probably good that I did that as it was starting to get a cheesy smell about it.  I sat in the cave with Sally and Sara came down too. We just kind of chilled in the cave and I wrote on my blog and listened to Pandora Christmas. I am in a Christmas mode. The chalets are here and it is Christmas! (But I am still excited for Thanksgiving!) We hung out and after a while they went to go get lunch while I hung out in the cave. I attempted to use paint to photo shop my face onto a picture where Madame looked better from last night. It is funny because in all of these images has one of us looking good or the other but never both at the same time! It is kind of funny. The one that both of us looked happy was blurry! It was funny so Sally said she would try and photo shop it for me because the paint wasn’t really working! But then they went off to class and I wrote some more blogs and then put some up in the WOU blog area. I got scolded again for not using the DIVE technique but I was just like pft whatever I have more important things to do. So I just rolled my eyes and copy pasted my other blogs and respell checked.

After that I sat in the cave until Cassandra came down. I shared my cookies and then worked on my Translation homework. The time went by easily like it usually does. My translation class started a half hour later so I had a little bit of free time to watch an episode on Netflix. After that I headed to class and found that the heaters in that building had been turned off because they stopped working. Blech!  I gave a cookie to my translation teacher (buttering her up for a better grade! ;-P) and she really liked it. We did class as normal and I think that this was the first time in a long time that all 8 of us were there at the same time. That was pretty crazy! But the class was pretty easyish… I am still having problems with verbs. So I don’t know how much better that is going to get in the next three weeks…
After class I headed home and worked on some history homework for tomorrow. I also cliffnotes-ed for tomorrow as well. Then Madame came up and called David to talk about the computer but still we didn’t know what we were doing. So that didn’t really work. For dinner we had croquet-monsieurs and a kind of strange salad. It was good but not exactly what I know salad leaves to be. Madame told me that it is winter lettuce. We talked about the news and how it is interesting now how you can’t leave your house and go into town without being recorded on cameras. I told her it was like the book 1984 but she didn’t know that reference. Then I talked to her about leaving and told her I am sad to leave but happy to go home. She said that is normal and that there is always a bed here for me or for me and my boyfriend if he comes with me to visit. I told her that the same goes for her and that she is always welcome to come see Oregon. It was nice. She said she might do a trip of the states when she retires to come see all of her students. I said good and I will be waiting for her! We talked about Paul and talked about Thanksgiving and also a bit about my classes.

After that I Skyped Thad and then went and watched TV with Madame until she fell asleep while I finished my history homework. Then we decided to go to sleep!

A Day on the Homestead

So today when I woke up I was happy to have been able to sleep in. It was really nice and I woke up around ten. When I came out nd sat on the couch before deciding to have breakfast, Madame asked me if I had any plans for the day. I said umm not that I know of but I thought we were making cookies today? She said of course we are! I was thinking that after we both take showers and get dressed and you have breakfast we could go and walk around town and maybe get a hot wine and a pretzel. I said Sure! That sounds like a wonderful idea!
She headed for the shower and I headed for the kitchen. We had the music videos on like most mornings while we got ready for our day. Once I finished breakfast and she got dressed I went and took a shower and then we got ready to go. We went down and said hi to Paul who was printing out coloring pages from the computer. When we were leaving he came over and hugged me and told me he didn’t want me to leave. We told him that we would be back soon. He wanted to come with us but we told im no because he wasn’t dressed and showered yet. We started walking and went to the dumpster to dump our trash and Madame asked me if garbage was the same like this in Oregon. I told her no it is more like every house gets a separate trash can that gets changed once a week. She was like aren’t there trash cans everywhere then? I said yeah but because of that there is less garbage in the streets. Then as we were crossing the road we ran into one of her friends who we talked to for a little bit. When she left Madame told me that she had just got a new apartment so we watched which way she walked so that we could know what direction her new apartment was. It was kind of fun. Then we continued on and I asked where Laurences store was. She said we could walk by it even though it was a bit out of the way.

On our walk when we passed by the hotel de ville we could hear music coming from up the road. When we got up there it was a group of people dancing. I assumed it was a flash mob and when I said that I had to explain what a flash mob was to Madame. She liked the idea. Then we went and found Laurences store which looks like a VERY expensive boutique from what I saw in the window. It turns out it isn’t too far away from my school so I had probably walked past it many times. I also made the connection that the email that I had used at the very beginning of this whole process to send a letter about me to Madame was actually the stores email. So also because Madame doesn’t have a computer or internet that is why she wasn’t able to reply back! It makes so much more sense now!

So then after we walked by there we walked down to the chalets on Cours Mirabeau. We walked down and looked at all of the shops and Madame commented on how this or that was made or how this or that is overly priced because it is in a chalet and it is Christmas time. It was pretty fun. When we got to the end where the food was Madame ordered us two hot wines and two sausages with cheese in a pretzel bun delicious things. It was really good. I guess that hot wine is a newerish thing here. Madame had never had it and decided to have it because I had come home after Marseille and asked her how to make it because I really liked it. She didn’t know because she hadn’t even tried hot wine.
We stood at one of the barrel tables and drank our wine and ate our sausages and another group of French people asked if they could use our table too. We said sure why not! So we started talking to them a little bit and asked them if they knew how to make the wine. They said you take spices from Alsace and then leave them in the wine for at least four days and then after that you heat it and that is how it has the spices in it. But some of the ones I have seen have citrus fruit peels in them but I don’t know what kind of fruit that is. But I bet I could google it.
The other group asked us to take a picture of them so we did and then after Madame told me to go take a picture of the stand that we got wine from because it was pretty. When I walked away she started bragging that I was a student from the US. When I came back they were still talking about me so I talked with them a bit. Then I asked them if they could take a picture of me and Madame. The lady agreed and then I showed her how to take the pictures. We posed and she didn’t think it was working so she took like 12 pictures but we were not really smiling in many of them because we were trying to tell her how to do it. So we have some with me smiling and some with her smiling. Oops! So I am seeing if Sally can photo shop it so that we both look good. After that we walked down and left that stall and said bye to those people and then went and bought some churros to share. Then we walked past the Santons and she told me that she doesn’t have any but she thinks they are cute. They are a truly Provencal thing so because she hasn’t been living here too long she doesn’t have any. But we looked at them and then walked down through the house stuff store down by the theater where the fireworks show was the night before. She told me about this tradition where you plant blé on the fourth of December and then how ever much it grows until Christmas is how much good luck you will have. I told her she better not leave it somewhere that Beebo can reach it! Then we decided to head home.
When we got there we were getting ready to start the cookies when Paul came up and sat with us for a while. He was going to lunch at a restaurant with his parents and meeting with some people. He was not happy that we were going to be making the cookies without him so we said that we would wait. In the meantime I wrote some blogs. Madame did some laundry and some ironing and she would talk with me while she did it. We listened to a lot of Celine Dion as that was the artist chosen by the channel that does music videos for the day. After a while it got to be five o clock and we decided that we needed to be done waiting for Paul because we needed to get the cookies done tonight and he told us they would be back by 4:30. So we started without him. Madame showed me some of the recopies that she had and I gave her the one that I had converted from the recipe I know on the back of the toll house chocolate chip bag.
The problem is that here they don’t use the measuring system of teaspoons or cups or things like that. So it makes it a bit complicated because everything is in grams which all matter about what kind of ingredient you are measuring. So I had to ask my translation teacher about how to make the conversions. So we used all the recipes to figure out what seemed the most universal between the recipes. It was really fun. They don’t use liquid vanilla extract they use packets and it is the same with baking soda/powder they use a packet called leavening powder. It was a pretty interesting. We also couldn’t find any chocolate chips at the store so we bought a chocolate bar. The part I was most worried about was the butter because it comes in much larger sticks but then she bought a different kind of butter that we the equivalent of two sticks of US butter so we used that. It was a pretty fun experience. I would add stuff and she taught me that if the bowl is sliding that you can put a towel under it and it won’t slide anymore. She says it is a secret she learned from working in the restaurant before she broke her wrist.
We were just about done with the dough when Paul came in. He “helped” us make the dough balls to put on the wax paper sheet. He made huge balls of dough so we had to make them smaller. Overall,  it wouldn’t matter though. We got the dough on the sheets and put them in the oven. We were keeping an eye on them and suddenly noticed that the dough was falling through the sits in the oven shelf and onto the bottom of the oven. So we put some aluminum under it so that it would be better. The cookies spread out SO much! They all turned into about four giant cookies instead of 12 smaller ones. We also put in a regular metal pan of some which ended up just turning into a giant cookie. We laughed at how silly it was and Paul and I ate the dough. It was great dough! It was pretty fun and we all laughed at how silly these cookies were working out. We had to keep opening the oven and turn the trays because they were cooking more in the back than in the front. I think it was part of the problem that we kept opening the oven and so it would have to reheat each time.
When we gt them all out we left them cool a little bit more and then debated on how to cut them. Eventually we decided on the bigger ones to just cut them like a pizza. It was pretty funny. When we decided to eat them as they were cool enough they were delicious!!! They are definitely not the prettiest things but they taste really delicious! I was happy to have my craving solved. Madame kept saying that the next time we would only do one egg and see what it did because my recipe was two eggs and all the others were one, so we tried it with two eggs. I am excited that she is talking about doing it again :-) I am going to see if Cassidy can bring her some US measuring cups and stuff because she has a cook book here that she can’t use because all the measurements are in US measurements. So she was saying she would really like something like that.
After that we ate some cookies and Paul watched Gangnam Style on my iPod while Madame took some cookies downstairs. Then I talked to my Parents on Skype. After that Paul went downstairs and Madame started dinner. We had Pot roast with leeks, carrots, onion, celery, and potatoes. It was really good pot roast and we had some red wine. I did eat bone marrow though which was super gross. Madame was like oh this is good you have to try it and she scooped some out of the bone and put it on a little piece of bread. She told me to put some salt on it and so I put a ton on knowing I was going to have problems getting through the texture. It was like blech. I did not like it. She said I didn’t have to finish it before I tried it if I didn’t like it. It wasn’t very much though so I forced it and when she asked if I wanted more I was like nope! SO that was the end of that. It was a good dinner and afterwards Madame was like “Now we can eat more cookies!” I think she really likes them! :-) I am glad.
After dinner we watched some news and they said that tomorrow is Saint Catherines day which I guess there are parties for women who are over 25 and not married will make hats that are yellow and green and then go to bars. It is kind of a marker that is like Hey I am single! I thought it was a pretty cool idea and when you google the hats they can be kind of crazy.

After that I skyped my roommates and spegan back home. That was kind of cool to see them but they were off to see a movie. Dad earlier was off to see Catching Fire with Thad. I was only really jealous. We also started watching My Fair Lady in French. It was kind of funny and I noticed that Elizas French accent isn’t as terrible as it is in English. So that was kind of funny.
Then I had a good personal talk with my host mom about cheating. I learned that she was cheated on and that is why she left her fiancé that she had about 6 years ago. She had been with him for about 12 years and then he cheated on her with a really good friend of hers that she also worked with. We kind of talked about that and I told her my life experience. It was a pretty personal conversation and I felt really close to her after that. Also it was just kind of good to talk about it? Yeah.
